Born in 1961 at Patuli, West Bengal, Chandra graduated from the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, Kolkata with first class first in 1986. He received a gold medal from Rabindra Bharati University in 1986 for excellence in Fine Arts. Chandra’s canvasses portray an ethereal realm, untouched by the outside world, with colors that are at once subdued and vibrant.
