Abhijit is a native of Kolkata, and studied at the Rabindranath Bharati University and the College of Visual Arts, Kolkata. He is a Founder Trustee and member of Arts Acre in Kolkata, and also founder and principal of the Ankan Arts School. The artist’s specialty lies in his depiction of Lord Krishna as a symbol of peace and joy and whom he visualizes and portrays as a man of nature.
